Vince McMahon Reportedly to put the XFL up for sale

Vince McMahon Reportedly Says He Won’t Bid on XFL Assets

Last week news came out that shocked XFL fans worldwide, Dan Kaplan of The Athletic said that creditors thought that Vince McMahon may be attempting the purchase his own XFL from bankruptcy. Since then, news has come out that the league has been reaching out to cities to restart their lease agreements in case the league was purchased.

Just now, we’re learning that Vince McMahon may not be the one trying to purchase the league. According to Darren Rovell, new court filings show that McMahon says he will NOT be bidding on the XFL assets.

Regardless of who is bidding, it seems that the company is still hopeful to find a buyer. The company is looking to sell by mid to late July, so we’ll definitely get our answer soon. As of know, it seems that Vince McMahon is out of the picture, but as with all things in life… that could change at any moment.

In the filing McMahon said “I’m not going to be a bidder,” and called the claims “inflammatory rhetoric and unsubstantiated claims”. Additionally, McMahon also claims in the filing that he put up at least $200M into the XFL.

To date, Vince McMahon has been the only person to be reportedly interested in purchasing the XFL. Which in itself is a crazy thought. We’ll keep you posted as more information comes out on the possible resurgence of the XFL.
