St. Louis BattleHawks DE Will Clarke Signed By Detroit Lions

As the upcoming 2020 NFL season approaches we’re starting to see more former XFL players get their shot to showcase their talent to multiple different NFL franchises. In the last week along we’ve seen multiple signing and tryouts, and in some cases cuts unfortunately.

Just now we’re learning that the Detroit Lions have signed former St. Louis BattleHawks defensive end, Will Clarke.

Drafted in the 3rd Round of 2014 NFL Draft by Cincinnati, Clarke recorded seven sacks and 37 tackles over five combined seasons with the Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During the XFL season that was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Clarke had four tackles, three quarterback hits and one sack in three games. In his NFL career, he has 37 tackles, 12 QB hits and seven sacks in 53 games.

This is just another example of why the XFL worked. As we mentioned above, we expect to see many more former XFL players make the move to the NFL as we get closer to kickoff. You can stay up to date with all the latest transactions with our XFL to NFL Player Tracker.
