XFL fans everywhere are patiently waiting on more news in regards to the XFL Bankruptcy Sale. It looks like we’re going to need to wait until early August to find out if the league is sold. As speculation has been running wild as to who some of the interested parties are, we have some more news out of Houston.
Mark Berman of FOX 26 is reporting that the University of Houston has agreed to honor the TDECU Stadium rental agreement that was in place for the Roughnecks. This allows the lease to be apart of the assets the buyer would receive upon acquiring the XFL through bankruptcy.

We already knew the XFL had reach out to TDECU, as well as CenturyLink (Seattle) and The Dome (St. Louis), but we know now that an agreement has been made.
At this time is’s hard to say when the Roughnecks would return to Houston. One of the plans on the table for the league to return in 2021 is to host all XFL games out of one location with a 12-week tournament. Unless Houston is chosen as the sole location, it may not be until 2022 when we see the Houston Roughnecks back on their home home field.
