All of the XFL teams are currently holding their mini camps in their respective location. One of the names that drew a lot of attention in the XFL draft was DL, Shawn Oakman. During the mini camps each team is assessing their newly drafted players in preparation of the upcoming 2020 season. It seems his journey to professional football has once again hit a roadblock. According to the XFL Show the Los Angeles Wildcats have waived Oakman.

Oakman was once considered a project player with immense physical gifts but a litany of character questions. Heading into a 2016 NFL draft process he was pegged as a potential second- or third-round pick. That abruptly ended when a rape investigation surfaced only weeks before the draft, leading Oakman to be dropped off every team’s board. He ultimately went unselected and his career was cast into doubt when he was indicted on a rape charge. Oakman refused a plea offer before eventually winning an acquittal in February that saw jurors deliberate for only two hours before a decision.
