Win a chance to attend XFL DC Summer Showcase

Former AAF players and Vinny Papale confirmed for Summer Showcase in DC

Just as the Summer Showcase is wrapping up in New York, we’re hearing news out of DC on some folks that will be in attendance tomorrow.

The official Twitter account of XFL DC just announced that Marquise Williams, Jalin Marshall and Vinny Papale will be at the St James Sports Complex tomorrow for the event.

Williams most recently played for the San Antonio Commanders of the AAF. He was primarily used as a change of pace backup, earning a handful of plays but filling in well whenever starter Logan Woodside was benched or injured. Utilizing his dual threat abilities, Williams completed over 70% of his passing attempts including a touchdown and two point conversion, while rushing for nearly 6 yards per carry. Williams provided San Antonio with a spark in their push for the playoffs; however, the league folded partway through the season.

Marshall was the first player to score a touchdown in the AAF, during the first game of the season for the Orlando Apollos. After the AAF folded he was signed by the Oakland Raiders, only to be waived two days later.

If the name Papale sounds familiar, it should, he is the son of Vince Papale. The movie “Invincible” was based off his fathers story of playing for the Eagles after earning a spot during an open tryout. It would definitely be great to see him follow in his fathers footsteps.
