Yesterday we reported that XFL co-owner Dany Garcia had taken to Instagram to announce that training camp would be kicking off January 3rd, 2023; one year from the time of the post.
Shortly after, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson put out a social media post of his own giving a short update on the XFL.
In his brief message, The Rock states that XFL execs are actively out scouting for talent for their 2023 return. This falls in line with what we’ve seen. Last month we reported XFL’s Doug Whaley was in attendance at the FCS Bowl, and is set to be scouting many other events as well.
He also speaks on the news that training camps would be coming 365 days from the time that the message was posted.
Johnson also spoke on his asperations for the league
The XFL player will be the hardest and hungriest players in the world. So, football nation, we are building this for you, the XFL is watching… all for the love of football.
We’re officially less than one year from when XFL training camps will kick off, and we’re expecting a busy year for the league.
In the next couple months we’re expected to learn broadcast partners, new teams and cities. and the re-opening of the XFL shop.
From there, we’re going to see coaches, players and draft to round out the year brining up to training camp next January and kickoff in Feb, 2023.
