As we get closer to the 2020 NFL season we’ve seen multiple former XFL stars get tryouts in recent weeks. We’ve already seen a few signings so far and we have another to report.
Just now, the Cincinnati Bengals have just announced via Twitter that former Los Angeles Wildcats offensive tackle will be signing with the franchise. The 6-4, 320-pound McKenzie was a defensive tackle in college, but he’s been listed at guard with previous NFL teams, and it seems that the role he’ll be filling in Cincinnati.
Roster Update: We've signed C Frederick Mauigoa and DT Kahlil McKenzie, who both were free agents. The team also waived WR Damion Willis and G Clay Cordasco.

McKenzie is a second-year player out of the Tennessee who was originally a sixth-round draft pick (198th overall) of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. He spent his rookie season with the Chiefs but did not see game action, then spent the entire 2019 season on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad.
He originally signed with the DC Defenders on January 20, 2020, but was immediately traded to the Los Angeles Wildcats in a three-team trade the same day. Unfortunately, he was placed on injured reserve on February 22, 2020, Then, as the other former XFL players, had his contract terminated when the league suspended operations on April 10, 2020.
As we expected, the closer that the NFL season gets, the more former XFL players we’ll see make the jump. This is just another example of why the XFL worked. We look forward to seeing many XFL guys make the cut and hopefully we’ll see a few this fall on Sunday.
