Earlier this week we reported that Seattle ticket sales have been leading the league, so much so that they have decided to open up additional seating sections. Another location that’s expected to do great for the league is St. Louis and today we have some news on that front.
KMOX News Radio caught up with Matt Dewey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the America’s Center complex, where he states that he expects the team to sell 28,000 tickets for it’s opening game
“I think the way the public is receiving the XFL is just a prime example that this is a sports city,” says Matt Dewey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the America’s Center complex. “It’s a sports town that loves its athletes, love its organizations and it’s truly embracing the XFL.”
28,000 would be enough to completely sell out the lower bowl of The Dome. At the time, there’s no plans to open additional seating. Regardless, 28,000 people in a closed dome will create a loud atmosphere for the BattleHawks.
Only time will tell though, if St. Louis stays undefeated demand may force the team to open up some more seats. The upper-bowl holds an additional 39,000 seats, so there’s plenty of room for more fans to root on their BattleHawks.
