Earlier this year it was revealed that the United States Football League (USFL) would be returning in 2022. When it was announced we didn’t know much other than that the league was targeting a minimum of eight teams.
With the official return, came official social media accounts. Up until now the USFL was operating under @USFLOfficial on Twitter, with their lone tweet being a retweet of FOX’s announcement.

There’s been a lot of changes since the reveal of a relaunch. When the news first dropped all of the USFL trademarks were registered under The Spring League LLC. Since then we’ve seen FOX create the National Spring Football League as a parent company to the USFL and a new entity to hold their trademarks. With the move to NSFL we’ve seen them register a total of 16 team related trademarks, with the Stallions having marks for Birmingham and Mobile.
With an announcement reportedly coming in the next week, it looks like FOX has secured a major win for the league. Earlier today @NewsUSFL on Twitter noticed that the account associated with @USFL had been secured by the league.

Included in the update is some never before seen USFL imagery; and we must admit it looks pretty sharp.
At the moment the account hasn’t made any Tweets, and the bio only shows “Coming Spring 2022”. That being said, we’d say that this is a good indicator that news is coming soon. It’s being reported that a formal announcement is set to be made by FOX later this week on the USFL’s inaugural season in Birmingham, AL.
At the time of publication the USFL Twitter only follows five accounts. FOX Sports, FOX College Football, FOX Sports PR, USFL on FOX and possibly a sign of things to come Joel Klatt.
You may recall, Joel Klatt was part of the XFL broadcast team; and if this is a sign of things to come he may be one of the voices of the USFL.
