Youtube Star Kicker Deestroying Signs To San Antonio Brahmas

In what is a wild turn of events in the UFL, Youtube sensation Deestroying – Donald De La Haye Jr. – is signing with the San Antonio Brahmas, according to his most recent video posted to his channel.

For those who may not be familiar with Deestroying, he’s had quite the journey as an athlete, and a Youtube icon. He played at UCF for a few years, primarily as a kickoff specialist, attempting only one extra point.

Things got controversial for Deestroying when he started his Youtube channel. The NCAA didn’t want him to continue making money off of his videos, and Donald refused to take his channel down. This led to Haye Jr. losing his eligibility to play in the NCAA, with his scholarship revoked.

Since then, Deestroying hasn’t played much football. He did have a CFL opportunity with the Toronto Argonauts as a punter and a kicker in 2019. However, he only remained on the roster through preseason, ultimately landing on the suspended list.

This hasn’t stopped him from continuing to chase his dreams. Donald has trained consistently for the last few years, alongside all of the Youtube content he’s created with other free agents. Deestroying has been training with renowned specialists Gary Zauner and Nick Novak, among others.

Interestingly enough, XFL star WR Jahcour Pearson originally got some fame through Deestroying’s Youtube channel.

Speaking of the XFL, Deestroying was connected with the league last year. He spent some time on the sidelines during the season providing commentary, and also held some of his 1v1’s and tryouts at XFL stadiums.

Final Thoughts

Now, he signs with the San Antonio Brahmas in an attempt to finally kick start his professional career. It won’t be easy by any means, as the team currently rosters Christopher Dunn and Matt Ammendola already.

With that in mind, DPP Marc Lillibridge clearly sees something in Donald, enough to bring him into training camp. On top of that, the Brahmas do not roster a punter currently – which is something Deestroying does have experience with.

It’ll be intriguing to watch this story unfold over the next couple of months, as Deestroying hasn’t kicked in a game for over six years. Time will tell if he’s truly ready for the moment.
