Two more XFL athletes signed NFL contracts yesterday. Sal Cannella and Juwan Green are headed to the next level, after excellent performances in the XFL this past season.

Sal Cannella is a spring football veteran. He’s been around the block in multiple leagues, beginning with the Generals in The Spring League. Sal won the 2020 TSL Championship alongside former XFL QB Bryan Scott.
From there, he ended up in the USFL for the 2022 season. Cannella was an All-USFL tight end for the New Orleans Breakers, recording 368 receiving yards and two touchdowns. In addition, he racked up 154 receiving yards (a USFL record) in the playoff matchup against Birmingham.
After a stint with the Green Bay Packers, Cannella went to the XFL. He put on a show for the Arlington Renegades, proving to be one of the big-time targets for an offense that didn’t have much stability at the quarterback position.

Sal finished the XFL season with 415 receiving yards, starting in seven out of ten games. Ultimately, he won the Championship with Arlington, defeating the DC Defenders. Sal scored the first touchdown in that affair.

Juwan Green was an offensive machine for the Seattle Sea Dragons during the XFL’s 2023 season. He proved to be a major threat in June Jones’ offense, as Ben DiNucci looked to him quite often week in and week out.
Green finished the year with 420 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. Juwan’s route running abilities made him into a threat against any defense, especially in the red zone.

Due to his excellence in the XFL, Juwan Green now has an NFL opportunity with the Kansas City Chiefs. This isn’t his first rodeo in the NFL, having been with the Atlanta Falcons in 2021.
With Cannella and Green signing NFL contracts, the XFL has now sent 62 players to the NFL – with 64 contracts signed.
