Winston Moss fills key roles for XFL Los Angeles

Winston Moss Open to XFL Coaching Return

Earlier this week it was announced that the XFL had been purchased out of bankruptcy by Dany Garcia, The Rock and RedBird Capital and fans all over seem to be on board. What we don’t know is if will be the same for former XFL staffers, will they want to return?

If you’re a Los Angeles Wildcats fan, you’ll probably be excited to hear that Winston Moss hopes to keep working for the league when it makes it’s third return. TMZ caught up with Moss and he had the following to say:

“I was excited to hear the news,” Moss told TMZ.com. “I’ve been on pins and needles ever since we were shut down due to COVID-19 and how can you not be excited about The Rock? . . . He’s an ex-football player, he’s a great entertainer, has a passion for whatever he does, has a passion for football, he seems to love the game. Both of us are University of Miami alumni, so c’mon! . . . I think he brings so much to the table that I would be honored, I would be thrilled to work with somebody with that stature.”

Moss is one of the creditors in the pending bankruptcy case. He’s reportedly owed more than $580,000. Regardless of whether he gets all or part of that amount from his prior contract, he’s hoping to emerge with a new one.

To date, the only other coach we’ve heard from is June Jones saying the same; he’d love to come back to the XFL. It looks as if the XFL’s new ownership is onboard with bringing back as many former staff as possible. The goal as of now is a 2021 return for the league, but nothing has been made official. Regardless if the XFL returns in 2021 or 2022, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.
