This morning, the Washington Commanders added another UFL player to their roster. Louisville Kings tight end Tre’ McKitty signed with the team, Adam Schefter reported in the A.M.
McKitty joined the UFL for the first time this past UFL season. As a former NFL draft pick, he entered the league with high expectations. Injuries held him back a bit in Louisville, but Tre finished the year with 14 receptions for 129 yards.
Notably, he had the game-winning catch in the team’s first win, which came in week four against Houston.
McKitty played his college football at Florida State from 2017-2019. He had 520 yards and a few touchdowns there, before making the move to Georgia for his final year of eligibility.
Tre’ was selected by the Chargers in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft. He bounced around between a few teams over the next five years, prior to his stint in the UFL. Now, he will get another opportunity in the NFL – this time with the Commanders.
