Another USFL to NFL signing is in the books: Houston Gamblers tight end Josh Pederson is headed to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This move makes a lot of sense, considering the circumstances. Doug Pederson, Josh’s father, is the head coach of the Jaguars currently. He also attended multiple Gamblers games this season to watch his son play.

Pederson played quite well in the USFL, with season two being his debut in the league. He finished the season with 325 receiving yards on 24 receptions.
The Gamblers utilized Josh often, as Pederson proved to be one of the better blocking/receiving tight ends in the USFL.
What a catch by @J2_P2 for the first down!

Now, he has an opportunity to pursue an NFL career, landing on the Jaguars roster ahead of training camp. Had it not been for the platform – and the national exposure – that the USFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have come along.
