Brandon Aubrey Breaks NFL Record With 19th Straight Field Goal

USFL Star Kicker Brandon Aubrey Earns NFL Pro Bowl Honors

Brandon Aubrey has taken the NFL by storm this year. The former soccer player was outstanding in the USFL with the Birmingham Stallions the past two seasons, and rightfully earned his opportunity in the big leagues.

The journey that Aubrey took to get to the NFL is remarkable. After playing professional soccer for most of his career, he decided to make the switch to football. Aubrey got a chance to play with the Birmingham Stallions in the inaugural season of the USFL, earning All-USFL honors that season.

Brandon had another successful year in 2023, which featured an added surprise. Dallas Cowboys special teams coordinator, John Fassel, took notice of his performances. He took an under the radar trip to Birmingham to watch Brandon kick this year, and was impressed.

Fast forward to the NFL preseason, and Brandon was battling it out with Tristan Vizcaino, ultimately winning the job.

Pro Bowl Tenure

Brandon Aubrey has been on a tear since being named the starting kicker in Dallas. He has not missed a field goal yet, currently 35-35 on the season. He set an NFL record earlier this year, passing 18 straight field goals made to begin an NFL career. Now, he’s shattered that record with 35.

Aubrey has been consistent from every level. He’s made all nine attempts from 50+ yards out, including a 60 yarder. He is responsible for 149 of the Cowboys’ points this season, also knocking through 44-47 of his XP’s.

Now, Brandon Aubrey is officially headed to the Pro Bowl. He is the second USFL player to accomplish this feat in modern history. Former USFL MVP, KaVontae Turpin, made the Pro Bowl last year with Dallas as a returner.

Had it not been for the national platform that the USFL provided Aubrey with, who knows if this incredible story would have even been possible.

With the USFL and XFL now officially merging into the UFL for 2024, prepare for more stories just like these to come to fruition next season.
