USFL MVP KaVontae Turpin Named To NFL All-Pro First Team

KaVontae Turpin continues to defy the odds in his special journey to stardom. The MVP of the USFL signed with the Dallas Cowboys in the offseason, and has been outstanding as a specialist ever since.

Turpin has been so impressive that he earned Pro Bowl honors – alongside being a part of the All-Pro First Team for the 2022-2023 NFL season.

It’s no surprise to see KaVontae Turpin shining on the world’s biggest stage. Those who paid attention to his abilities in the FCF, ELF, TSL, and USFL knew the impact he could have on an NFL team.

Turpin dominated in the USFL as a wide receiver and specialist. He made the All-USFL team in both areas, and eventually won MVP of the league itself during the inaugural season of the USFL. Turpin played a major role in leading the New Jersey Generals to the postseason.

Since joining the Dallas Cowboys, Turpin has dominated as a returner and specialist. In pre-season, he took two kicks to the house in one game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

It’s been a solid rookie season for Turpin in the NFL. He’s returned 21 kicks for a total of 508 yards, averaging 24 per return. He’s also taken 29 punt returns for 303 yards.

While he hasn’t scored quite yet, Turpin has been a clear threat to every opponents’ special teams squads. Everyone has to be careful when kicking in KaVontae’s direction.

Clearly, KaVontae Turpin is one of the NFL’s premier return specialists. Had it not been for the national exposure that the USFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have been made possible.
