FOX Promotes Upcoming USFL Season During Daytona 500

USFL Heavily Featured During the Daytona 500

The Daytona 500 is one of the largest NASCAR races of the year, and if you were tuning in on FOX something else may have caught your attention.

To many USFL fan’s surprise there was a ton of league promotion throughout the race.

Prior to the start of the Daytona 500 Legendary NASCAR Driver Michael Waltrip was going through the pit interviewing drivers when he ran into two USFL coaches; New Orleans Breakers Head Coach John DeFilippo and Birmingham Stallions Head Coach Skip Holtz.

Last year the Daytona 500 averaged nearly 9 million viewers in the United States alone.

Beyond the cameo from the USFL coaches, FOX heavily promoted the USFL. Included were new promos for each of the new hub cities in preperation for season 2.

With advertisements before and throughout the race, FOX has given the USFL exposure to a new audience outside of football.

The USFL kicks off season 2 on April 15th in Memphis, TN and these promotions can only be seen as a good thing.
