San Antonio Brahmas Sign Six Players For 2025 | John Lovett, Toby Ndukwe

UFL Week Four Sees Plethora Of Transactions

Ahead of UFL week four, we saw a few teams make transactions that impacted their lineups this week. It’s been a crazy week so far, but let’s take a look at what has transpired over the last couple of days.

San Antonio Brahmas

K Tristan Vizcaino
OLB David Anenih

With Donald De La Haye Jr. missing multiple weeks due to a groin injury, the Brahmas needed to bring in a kicker. They’ve signed Tristan Vizcaino to the roster, who, interestingly enough, was beat out by former Stallions kicker Brandon Aubrey for the Dallas Cowboys gig.

Vizcaino has been around the block in the NFL, going 11-12 on kicks in the regular seasons with a few different teams. Tristan will fill the hole left by Donald for the time being, with the former Washington product finding a new home in pro football.

David Anenih was also added to the EDGE room, as the Brahmas attempt to find some sort of life at the position. They’ve struggled to generate pressure, so Anenih will look to help bolster a room looking for life.

Anenih had a tremendous career at Houston, where he racked up 99 tackles and 20 sacks across four seasons. He signed with the Titans as an UDFA, but then made his way to the Falcons in 2022. He hasn’t seen action in any regular season games in the NFL, but has been on rosters for a few seasons.

In other Brahmas news, they lost John Lovett to IR. This is a brutal blow for the team, as he was one of hte leading rushers in the UFL a year ago. Lovett has the tangibles that Payton Pardee wants to run the football with, so it’s unfortunate to see him miss at least the next five weeks.

DC Defenders

With the injury to WR Ty Scott, the DC Defenders have brought in Joshua Matthews. He was with the team in training camp, and will provide depth at WR for a DC team that could use it. At McNeese State, he totaled 1,129 receiving yards and nine scores.

Sadly, LB Ferrod Gardner has been placed on IR. Gardner was playing excellent football for DC this season, and will be a tough loss in the middle of that defense. Look for DC to bring in a linebacker to replace Ferrod sooner than later. For the time being, Brian Abraham has been added to the active roster.

Michigan Panthers

The Michigan Panthers lost safety Tyree Gillespie to IR as well. He limped off the field in their week three win over San Antonio with a calf injury, and has yet to return. Gillespie was starting to make his name known in that secondary, so it’s a shame to see him go down.
