Now that week five has wrapped up for The Spring League, only one week remains before the Mega Bowl. With only a six week season and no playoffs, it’s particularly tough to get into the championship. Looking at both the North and South Division, 3 of the 4 teams all still have a chance to make it to the big game.
If you missed out on any of the week five action, not an issue… we got you covered!
Conquerors vs Alphas
The Alphas took out the Conquerors in their first meetup, but since then the Conq’s have become a heck of a team. Coming off a tough overtime loss to the Linemen last week, the team was looking to make a statement. On a the Alphas side, a win could put them in prime position to make a Mega Bowl appearance.
The Conquerors would ultimately take the win and go 3-2 on the season, and putting the Alphas at the same as well. With only one week left for the North Division, it seems like it’s going to be a showdown between the Linemen and the Conquerors.

Linemen vs Aviators
The Linemen have been dominant. They’ve won three games in a row, and have put up 45+ points in their last two games. With a win here, they could put themselves in a golden position to lock up a place in the championship game.
On the other hand, the Aviators have simply been a mess. They haven’t scored 10 or more points in a single game this season. However, they did add Alpha’s QB Vad Lee to the roster this week, so that may just be the spark they needed on offense to get things going.
It looked as if the Aviators were about to get their first win, but the Linemen secured the victory with Jonathan Song knocking in the field goal, giving them a 1-point lead with 6 seconds remaining.

Generals vs Sea Lions
This is a make or break game for the Generals if they want to make the Mega Bowl. Earlier this year, in their first matchup, the Sea Lions picked up their lone win against the Generals. They would hope to re-create that magic in week 5.
Darnell Holland took the Generals on his back and came out strong for the team, including two successful punt returns and a touchdown, giving three scores on the. The Sea Lions played hard, but the Generals had an answer for all of their moves this afternoon.
With this win, they go 3-2 on the season and sit right below the Jousters in point differential. It all comes down to week six for the South Division.

Blues vs Jousters
Wrapping up the action this week was the Blues and the Jousters, and it turned out to be a spectacular match. Defense played a big part for both teams during this battle, keeping the score close enough to make it anyone’s to win.
It looked as if the Jousters were going to take the game and a commanding lead in the South, but on a last second Hail Mary, the Blues found the end-zone. This puts both teams at 3-2, with the Generals there with them. It may come down to who can put up the most points in week six.

With one week left in the season, things are really starting to heat up. With the absence of a playoff, next week is sure to be a good one. We have tight battles in both the North and the South, and it’s hard to say who will make it to the Mega Bowl at the moment.
