Both the Birmingham Stallions and St. Louis Battlehawks added a player to their roster over the last few days, while also removing one to keep things even. St. Louis swapped running backs, with the Stallions bringing in more talent to the O-Line unit.

C Joey Lombard, Signed
WR Kyric McGowan, Removed
The Birmingham Stallions have brought in Joey Lombard, who joins on the heels of Steven Gonzalez stepping away from the UFL to join Penn State.
Lombard played for the South Dakota Coyotes, starting in 48 games. He primarily played at center throughout his collegiate career, but he has positional flexibility to shift over to guard. With that in mind, he’ll greatly benefit Birmingham in the trenches. At South Dakota, he earned FCS All-American honors.
Joey earned an NFL opportunity with Kansas City, following a strong rookie mini-camp performance. He was released during roster cut downs, and then went up north to the CFL for a few months in Hamilton. With his experience playing center, Lombard is a high-IQ player who immediately makes A.J. McCarron’s offense better.
In what is a rather interesting transaction, the Stallion have released WR Kyric McGowan – who had just signed a couple of short weeks ago. Birmingham’s wide receiver room is loaded, and they did just add John Ross – the former first round NFL draft pick – so it isn’t entirely surprising that someone had to go.
St. Louis Battlehawks
RB Rahjai Harris, Signed
RB Jordan Waters, Removed
The Battlehawks have released RB Jordan Waters, as he earned an NFL futures deal with the Packers. In Waters’ place is Rah’Jai Harris, who finally makes his way to the UFL after a couple of strong showcase appearances.
Rah’Jai attended the UFL Showcases earlier in the summer, and also made waves at The Pro Showcase’s first event in November. Harris was a force to be reckoned with collegiately, playing at Eastern Carolina University.
Throughout his time there, Harris rushed for 3,096 yards (2nd All-Time at ECU) and 29 touchdowns. He contributed coming out of the backfield as well, with 61 receptions. Rah’jai didn’t immediately go to the NFL, but he did have mini-camp opportunities in Buffalo and Atlanta.
Harris is a do-it-all type of back who absolutely makes St. Louis’ room stronger. If handed the reins, Rah’jai will be capable of doing some excellent things in the UFL.
