St. Louis Battlehawks Sign WR Jerome Kapp In UFL Free Agency

The wide receiver room continues to grow in St. Louis. Jerome Kapp, best known for his “Hard Knocks” stint with the New York Jets back in the fall, is signing with the Battlehawks.

This pickup comes just a few days after the Battlehawks brought back Darrius Shepherd in UFL Free Agency. Anthony Becht has a loaded room offensively, and now adds to it with Kapp.

Jerome Kapp played his college football at Kutztown University, totaling 2,190 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns across three seasons.

During his senior campaign, Kapp earned KU Senior Male Athlete of the Year honors, racking up 916 yards and nine touchdowns that year.

This led to some NFL interest. Jerome had a workout with the Jets in May, and was signed that week. Jerome was ultimately released by the team in late August, but not before he gave fans an outstanding performance on Hard Knocks:

He was given a ton of credit for his work ethic in New York, despite not making the final roster.

Final Thoughts

Jerome Kapp is joining a team that already features some of the best wide receivers in the scene:

Blake Jackson
Darrius Shepherd
Hakeem Butler
Jamarcus Bradley
Jahcour Pearson
James Bostic
Steven Mitchell Jr.

Pearson is obviously one of the biggest additions of the offseason so far, as the St. Louis Battlehawks picked him up with their first pick of the XFL Dispersal Draft.

With eight wide outs currently on the team, one has to wonder if there will be room for them all, as the regular season rosters have to be cut down to 50 players.

For now, DPP Dave Boller and the Battlehawks are focused on finalizing their 75-man roster for training camp. With players reporting on February 23rd, it is just around the corner.
