Birmingham Stallions Sign WR Gary Jennings & CB Mark Milton

St. Louis Battlehawks Sign Gary Jennings & Ryan Coll

The St. Louis Battlehawks aren’t done making moves yet. With UFL camp fully in motion, they’ve signed WR Gary Jennings and C Ryan Coll to fill out the roster, according to Patrick Rifino.

WR Gary Jennings

It’s a homecoming for Gary Jennings, who makes his return to The Lou. He was with St. Louis during the 2023 XFL season, and was one of their standout receivers – with 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns. This led to an NFL stint with the Carolina Panthers, where he spent the 2023 preseason.

Jennings then decided to sign with the Birmingham Stallions after his release from Carolina. This move was possible because, at the time, the USFL and XFL hadn’t merged yet. So the Battlehawks’ XFL rights to Gary were irrelevant.

Jennings was quiet in Birmingham this year, though. He had just two catches for 20 yards in the regular season with Birmingham – but did end up scoring the first touchdown of the UFL Championship game. He was a big part of their special teams unit, with 21 kick returns for 504 yards.

Now, he brings his talents back to St. Louis, a team that could use them especially on special teams. With Darrius Shepherd no longer in the picture, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Gary take the helm as returner in 2025.

OL/C Ryan Coll

Now here’s a fascinating pickup for St. Louis. Ryan Coll had just signed with the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts – following his release from the Indianapolis Colts. This move literally happened earlier this week. However, according to Pat Rifino and Mike Mitchell, he was able to get a quick release from Toronto – and now takes his talents to the UFL.

Coll is a young prospect who played all of his college football at Richmond. He earned a starting role quickly, and was a full-time starter his last few seasons. As a junior, Ryan was named to the First Team All-CAA list – helping Richmond’s offense rank 3rd in the CAA in production.

As a senior, the success continued for Ryan. He was once again All-CAA First Team – and was even given DIvision I FCS All-ECAC honors. His work at center did not go unnoticed, as Coll was picked up by the Indianapolis Colts.

For Coll, it won’t be easy to get into the rotation in St. Louis. Mike Panasiuk has been the starting center for Anthony Becht’s offense the last two seasons – and he’s earned All-XFL/All-UFL honors both years. However, with his youth and his potential, Ryan has the tangibles needed to make a difference in The Lou.
