St. Louis Battlehawks Sign DT Austin Faoliu In UFL Free Agency

The St. Louis Battlehawks have added the final piece to the puzzle for their UFL roster. DT Austin Faoliu has signed with the team, according to Mike Mitchell and Sports Illustrated.

Faoliu is a tremendous pickup for the Battlehawks. He played with the Seattle Sea Dragons during the 2023 XFL season, earning All-XFL honors. Austin finished the year with 24 tackles and a sack, making plays week in and week out for a playoff organization. He had a season high seven tackles in week three against Vegas.

Austin Faoliu was one of PFF’s highest graded linemen in 2023, which led to him signing with the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL. He ended up being activated for a game, seeing a bit of action towards the end of the NFL season – totaling one tackle.

The NFL was nothing new for Faoliu, who had spent time with the Dallas Cowboys prior to the XFL. In college, Austin played at Oregon, racking up 124 tackles and five sacks across four seasons.

Now, he’ll be joining a loaded St. Louis Battlehawks roster in the UFL. Considering the struggles St. Louis had at times in 2023 in effectively stopping the run, Faoliu is a great addition to their interior line.

Final Thoughts

General Manager Dave Boller has finalized his roster for training camp. The team now sits at 75 players, and will not be able to make any more moves until camp begins.

Last week, Anthony Becht got his starting quarterback back. AJ McCarron returned to the roster, alongside QB Brandon Silvers who replaced Nick Tiano.

Now, the focus shifts to training camp. Coaches are reporting today, and players will be making their way down to Arlington on the 23rd and 24th.
