St. Louis Battlehawks Re-Sign WR Steven Mitchell Jr.

Folks, he’s back. The St. Louis Battlehawks have re-signed WR Steven Mitchell Jr., who originally was let go during UFL Training Camp.

For the Battlehawks, this signing just makes their wide receiver room even better. They finally saw the return of Jahcour Pearson this past weekend, who led the team with 10 receptions, 70 yards, and a score in his first game back.

Now, Steven Mitchell Jr. joins a unit that already features the likes of Hakeem Butler, Marcell Ateman, Darius Shepherd, and Blake Jackson – just to name a few.

Mitchell was with the Battlehawks a season ago, and was a fan favorite as someone who showed up as a vertical threat week in and week out. Steven finished the XFL season with 207 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Offensive Coordinator Bruce Gradkowski has been on a roll the past few weeks, as St. Louis has scored the most points of any team in the UFL. They’re averaging over 26 points per game. With Mitchell back on the roster, as someone who is already familiar with the system, A.J. McCarron has another trusty weapon to find on weekends.

Final Thoughts

General Manager Dave Boller never stops bringing in talent for this team. Whether it’s players who were already a part of the team, or new prospects who have NFL caliber skill sets, this Battlehawks team has it all.

St. Louis will now shift their focus to the DC Defenders, as they hit the road to Audi Field this weekend. So far, they are 0-3 against DC in their XFL career.
