St. Louis Battlehawks Re-Sign DB Mike Hampton

St. Louis Battlehawks Re-Sign DB Mike Hampton

With the injury to Brandon Sebastian, the St. Louis Battlehawks have brought back DB Mike Hampton. Hampton was with the team during the 2023 XFL season, and now comes back given his familiarity with the system in St. Louis.

Hampton started in seven of nine games played for the Battlehawks a season ago. He posted 36 tackles on the year, and three PBU’s.

Mike struggled when it came to allowing receptions. 33 of 41 targets that went his way were completed (80.5%), as he allowed 272 yards of offense. He did finish the year with an above average Defensive Grade of 68.7, per PFF.

Hampton played his college football at South Florida, totaling 137 tackles and two interceptions during his time there.

After spending some time as a free agent, Hampton returns to Donnie Abraham’s defensive unit in St. Louis to close out the 2024 UFL season.

With the playoffs already a lock, the Battlehawks now shift their focus to earning home field advantage for the XFL Conference Championship against San Antonio.
