St. Louis Battlehawks Re-Sign All-XFL DB Lavert Hill

The St. Louis Battlehawks secondary got an important piece back this week. All-XFL DB Lavert Hill has re-signed to the team, following some time spent in the NFL.

Lavert Hill spent the 2023 XFL season in St. Louis, playing in all ten games. He finished the year with 25 tackles and two interceptions, earning All-XFL honors. Hill made an impact week in and week out, most notably with two interceptions in their matchup in Vegas against the Vipers.

Hill played his college football at Michigan, where he racked up 57 tackles and six interceptions during his career there. He earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors in 2017.

Lavert garnered some NFL interest coming out of college, signing with the Kansas City Chiefs as an UDFA in 2020. He had a couple of practice squad opportunities with the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals, but both were relatively short lived.

After the XFL season, Hill returned to the NFL, signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 14th, 2023. He was released two weeks later during cutdowns.

Final Thoughts

Now, GM Dave Boller & Co. get one of their stars back for the 2024 UFL season. The St. Louis Battlehawks have 72 players on the roster, with three openings remaining ahead of training camp.

The Battlehawks will have a different look in the secondary this season. The team picked up quite a bit of talent throughout the dispersal process, including Chris Payton-Jones, Keylon Kennedy, Dravon Askew-Henry, and others.
