San Antonio Brahmas Sign OL George Moore, Cut Teez Tabor

The San Antonio Brahmas have dealt with some injuries over the past few weeks. Every game, they’ve had an offensive lineman go down. This has led to George Moore signing with the team, to provide some depth at the position.

George Moore is no stranger to the spring football scene. He was with the Arlington Renegades last year, starting in five games. Moore ultimately won the XFL Championship with the team in 2023. According to PFF, George finished the season with a 38.9 Offensive Grade (43.9 Pass Block/39.9 Run Block).

Moore has plenty of experience as a starter. He played his college football at Oregon, starting in 20 of his final 21 games at the school.

George Moore had been picked up by the DC Defenders during the dispersal draft process. He was cut by the team during Training Camp.

Derrick Kelly To IR

Moore joins the Brahmas due to another offensive line injury. Derrick Kelly Jr., who’s been playing well for the team, went down against Michigan and has been placed on the injured reserve list.

Kelly started in all three games he played in this UFL season, finishing with a 60.4 Offensive Grade, per PFF. It’s unfortunate to see him go down, as the coaching staff in San Antonio has always spoken very highly of what he brings to the organization.

Teez Tabor Released

Teez Tabor, the former second round draft pick for the Detroit Lions, has been let go. Tabor played in three games for the Brahmas, starting in all of them. He posted 19 tackles and a PBU, but missed a few tackles and had a below average 52.3 Defensive Grade, per PFF.

In week three against St. Louis, Tabor was targeted three times, allowing a 100% completion percentage.

Final Thoughts

With a 3-1 record, the San Antonio Brahmas are off to an excellent start in the UFL. That said, injuries have been an issue, and could prove to be a problem down the stretch of this season if the right talent isn’t brought in as a replacement. General Manager Marc Lillibridge has done a tremendous job of signing NFL-caliber athletes this offseason, so one should expect that to continue moving forward.

The team has already lost Alex Mollette, Greg Eiland, and Derrick Kelly Jr. to the injured reserve. Not to mention, starting QB Chase Garbers is likely done for the year as well.

San Antonio now shifts their focus to the 0-4 Arlington Renegades, as they face off in Arlington at 7pm ET on FOX this Saturday.
