Atlanta Falcons Sign Orlando Guardians All-XFL DT Caeveon Patton | San Antonio Brahmas Vernon Scott

San Antonio Brahmas Sign DL Caeveon Patton & S Vernon Scott

It’s been a busy day for the San Antonio Brahmas in UFL Free Agency. DL Caeveon Patton and Safety Vernon Scott have signed letters of intent to play for the team, according to UFL Analyst.

DL Caeveon Patton

Caeveon Patton is an excellent pickup for San Antonio’s defensive line. Patton was a force to be reckoned with in the trenches with the Orlando Guardians, earning All-XFL honors in 2023.

He finished the season with 40 tackles and five TFL, dominating throughout the year. One of his best games was in week five against Vegas, where he totaled 11 tackles. Patton was the 5th highest PFF graded player on the Guardians, with a 72.2 grade.

After the XFL, Caeveon Patton signed with the Atlanta Falcons. He spent time with the team during the preseason, but was released during cutdowns. Now, Patton will bring his talents to the UFL, with the San Antonio Brahmas.

S Vernon Scott

The former seventh round pick, Vernon Scott, joins San Antonio to bolster the secondary. Scott has been with the Green Bay Packers the past few seasons, since joining the team.

Vernon Scott saw some serious playing time in the 2020 season, where he posted 13 tackles and a sack in 15 active games. Since then, though, he has primarily been on the practice squad, and was waived last spring. The Carolina Panthers picked him up off of waivers, but released him in June.

After several months as a free agent, Scott will now look to continue his professional career in the UFL.

Vernon Scott had a tremendous career at TCU, racking up 86 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions during his time there. He had a pick six on Jalen Hurts during their game in the 2019 season.

Final Thoughts

DPP Marc Lillibridge and the San Antonio Brahmas have been aggressive in free agency over the past day. The team just signed RB John Lovett, and now add to their defense with Patton and Scott.

Interestingly enough, the Brahmas roster now sits at 74. The team is still missing a long snapper and punter, which means that they will have to cut someone in order to fill those holes.
