San Antonio Brahmas Sign DE Kwabena Bonsu In UFL Free Agency

San Antonio Brahmas Sign DE Kwabena Bonsu For 2024

The San Antonio Brahmas finalized their UFL roster yesterday, signing DE Kwabena Bonsu in free agency. Bonsu officially puts the Brahmas at 75 players, meaning that they’re not allowed to make any more moves until training camp begins.

Kwabena Bonsu is an Army product, having played at West Point for five years. Across that span, he posted 128 tackles and 7.5 sacks.

Bonsu had a very productive year in 2022, with 46 tackles and three sacks. He played in all 12 games that season, starting eight.

It’s worth noting that Kwabena earned Defensive Player of the Year honors at South Cobb High School in his senior year. Bonsu was invited to the Jacksonville Jaguars rookie mini-camp this past spring, but wasn’t signed to the team.

He’s clearly a very talented prospect, and now has an opportunity to prove himself at the professional level in the UFL.

Final Thoughts

It has been an overhaul in San Antonio for the Brahmas this offseason. The team moved on from Head Coach Hines Ward, bringing in Wade Phillips (formerly with the Roughnecks). Wade also brought along his GM Marc Lillibridge from Houston.

This has resulted in a lot of turnover on the roster for the 2024 season. Quite a few starters will not be featured in San Antonio this year, as Phillips & Co. have done their due diligence to bring in as many free agents and former XFL/USFL talent as possible.
