Renegades Sign Matt Landers, Noah Henderson, Trevon Coley

Renegades Sign Matt Landers, Noah Henderson, Trevon Coley

After leaving some room for free agents to sign, the Arlington Renegades have continued to build out their roster since UFL free agency opened. In their latest batch of additions, the team signed:

WR Matt Landers
OL Noah Henderson
DL Trevon Coley

WR Matt Landers

Bringing even more depth to the WR room is Matt Landers, who signs to Arlington after a preseason stint with the Seattle Seahawks. Interestingly enough, Landers was with Holton Ahlers in Seattle – who also is now on the Renegades.

Landers played his college football at Georgia for four years, but did not see much production during that span. He transferred to Toledo in 2021 and racked up 429 receiving yards in 11 games there.

Then, Matt Landers moved to Arkansas for his senior season. He started in 12 of 13 games played, dominating defenses as he finished with 901 yards and eight touchdowns. At 6’4”, 200 lbs., Landers is a bigger body who also brings athleticism and excellent hands to the table.

OL Noah Henderson

Noah Henderson is an intriguing signing for Arlington, mainly because of his connection to QB Holton Ahlers. The two played together at East Carolina, where he made 26 starts in 35 games with the team. Ahlers has been recruiting ECU talent, as the team recently signed WR Isaiah Winstead as well. If Holton does win the starting job, he’ll be surrounded by talent that he is very familiar with.

DL Trevon Coley

Trevon Coley is an excellent pickup for the Renegades defensively. After losing starting DT T.J. Barnes in the dispersal process, Coley comes in and fills a much needed hole on the line.

Coley has a ton of quality NFL experience, playing in 44 games with the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, and Arizona Cardinals. He racked up 100 tackles and 3.5 sacks across that span.

Trevon has also had a couple of opportunities with the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans. Most recently, the Miami Dolphins brought him in for a workout this past fall.

Trevon Coney had an outstanding tenure at Florida Atlantic, with 194 tackles and 13.5 sacks to his name. Now, he’ll look to rejuvenate his professional career with the Arlington Renegades in the UFL.

Final Thoughts

The Renegades now roster 66 players, leaving nine openings ahead of free agency’s deadline, which is slated for February 14th.

GM Rick Mueller chose to leave 15 spots open after the dispersal draft process, which is playing into their strategy taking place now. Clearly, Arlington has had free agents lined up to sign, and are bringing them in one at a time to fill out the roster.
