The Arlington Renegades continue to sift through players in UFL Training Camp. In their latest move, they brought back WR Brandon Arconado, and released newly signed wideout Todd Simmons Jr.

Brandon Arconado is no stranger to spring football, or the Renegades. Brandon spent the 2023 XFL season in Arlington, winning the Championship with the team as he recorded 200 receiving yards that year. He also had five catches for 39 yards and a score in the postseason.
Arcanado didn’t end up making it to the UFL with Arlington, having been let go throughout the merger process. However, with a week left to go before cuts are made, the Renegades are bringing him back. Arconado also has past experience playing in The Spring League, with 41 receiving yards for the Blues back in 2021.
Wow. Luis Perez cannot miss in this first half. The @XFLRenegades extend their lead with this Perez to Brandon Arconado dime. This team looks vastly different than the group we saw in the regular season. #XFL | @XFL2023pic.twitter.com/zpOuU0qwrt

Brandon played the majority of his college football at Washington State, where he recorded 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns across three seasons.
On the other side, the Renegades are releasing WR Todd Simmons Jr., who was an offseason pickup. Todd was signed by Arlington in 2023, but was let go due to the merger. He ended up being re-signed and brought to Training Camp – but is now being released as Arlington makes room for Arconado. Simmons is someone who performed quite well in arena ball, and had some NFL workouts last year prior to his stint in Arlington.

The Renegades also lost WR Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi to injured reserve. He suffered an injury this week that will likely keep him out for at least half of the UFL season. It’s unfortunate to see him go down, as Damon has been grinding for quite a while to earn a UFL gig.
On top of that, the Renegades cut OG Grant Smith earlier this week. Smith was another offseason addition to the offensive line, but was cut to make room for Briason Mays.
