Pittsburgh Steelers Sign New Orleans Breakers CB Nevelle Clarke

The New Orleans Breakers have their first USFL to NFL signing of this offseason. Cornerback Nevelle Clarke has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per Aaron Wilson.

Nevelle Clarke has been with the New Orleans Breakers for the past two USFL seasons. In 2022, he registered 15 tackles, and an interception for the unit.

This year, he was even better. Clarke was one of the strongest defenders in the league, consistently taking on some of the toughest assignments for New Orleans.

In 2023, Nevelle Clarke finished the season with 26 tackles, and two interceptions. His presence on the defensive side of the ball was key to the Breakers success, as they boasted one of the top units in the USFL.

Clarke is the 31st USFL player to officially sign an NFL contract. In addition, he is the first USFL player to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers from the 2023 season.

The NFL is no stranger to Nevelle Clarke, who previously spent time with the Minnesota Vikings a couple of years ago.

Had it not been for the platform – and the national exposure – that the USFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have come along.
