Pittsburgh Maulers Re-Sign Safety Eli Walker For 2024

Pittsburgh Maulers Re-Sign Safety Eli Walker For 2024

Another day, another re-signing for the Pittsburgh Maulers. The team has officially brought back safety Eli Walker, which is excellent news for Jarren Horton’s defensive unit.

Eli Walker has been with the Pittsburgh Maulers for the past two seasons in the USFL. In 2022, he was solid, recording 15 tackles for the team.

However, Walker saw a larger, more impactful role in 2023. He played all ten regular season games, starting in five of them. This year, Eli posted 33 tackles, an interception, and one sack for Pittsburgh.

He also had a clutch fumble six in week ten, as Pittsburgh punched their postseason ticket against the New Jersey Generals.

In the USFL Championship, Walker had a touchdown – but it was called back due to an illegal forward handoff.

According to Pro Football Focus, Eli Walker finished the USFL season as the fourth highest graded Pittsburgh Maulers player, with an overall grade of 78.8. Walker took a major step forward in the 2023 USFL season, and now will look to build upon that success next year.

New GM Dennis Polian has been quite aggressive in re-signing athletes for the 2024 season, including:

RB Madre London
WR Tre Walker
TE Matt Seybert
OT Justin Evans
OG Jon Dietzen
C Brayden Patton
C Xavier Dampeer
DL Chris Okoye Jr.
DT Terry Beckner Jr.
DT Will Miles
DE Nasir Player
CB Keith Gipson Jr.
S Malcolm Elmore
