Okoye began his USFL career with the New Orleans Breakers. He played with Larry Fedora’s unit for the first several weeks of the season, racking up six tackles. However, he ended up moving to the Pittsburgh Maulers midseason, and finished the year with nine tackles.
In 2023, Christopher Okoye took on a larger role with the Pittsburgh Maulers. Despite dealing with injuries, he still made appearances in seven regular season games, posting seven tackles and two sacks throughout the season.
Now, Okoye is locked in for the 2024 season, having re-signed with Pittsburgh. GM Dennis Polian and DC Jarren Horton have been aggressively pursuing their athletes on expiring contracts, especially those on the defensive side of the football.
So far, the Pittsburgh Maulers have re-signed:
RB Madre London
WR Tre Walker
OT Justin Evans
OG Jon Dietzen
C Brayden Patton
C Xavier Dampeer
DT Terry Beckner Jr.
DT Will Miles
DE Nasir Player
CB Keith Gipson Jr.
S Malcolm Elmore
Coming off of a Championship loss, the Pittsburgh Maulers now set their sights on running it back in 2024 with a reloaded and re-tooled roster.
