In 2022, Isiah may have been best known for a ferocious hit he endured during a week nine matchup against the Philadelphia Stars. Cody Brown, the hard-hitting defender, belted Hennie out of bounds up the sidelines – knocking out his tooth in the process.
In addition, Hennie was an absolute star on special teams. He earned All-USFL honors this season as a punt returner, showcasing his dazzling abilities early on, with a touchdown in week one against New Orleans.
Isiah finished the year with 297 punt return yards, averaging 17.5 yards per return. Those are both modern USFL records in their respective categories.
In the postseason, Hennie recorded 14 receptions for 138 yards, and led the team with 55 yards receiving in the USFL Championship game.
It’s excellent to see an outstanding athlete such as Isiah Hennie re-sign with the team. He’s been one of the most familiar faces in the USFL through 2022 and 2023, and will remain in the league for the foreseeable future.
GM Dennis Polian has been quite busy re-signing athletes on expiring contracts so far. These include:
RB Madre London WR Tre Walker TE Matt Seybert OT Justin Evans OG Jon Dietzen C Brayden Patton C Xavier Dampeer DL Chris Okoye Jr. DT Terry Beckner Jr. DT Will Miles DE Nasir Player LB Dale Warren CB Keith Gipson Jr. S Malcolm Elmore S Eli Walker
