Philadelphia Stars Sign USFL Draft Pick CB Destin Mack

The Philadelphia Stars have made another move, signing USFL College Draft Pick Destin Mack for the 2024 season. Mack was selected in the 9th round by the Stars, and now joins the team several months after the draft.

Destin Mack played his college ball at Citadel. He debuted in 2018, where he started in four games – totaling 15 tackles, one sack, and a pass breakup.

In 2019, Mack continued to build upon his performances, racking up 35 tackles, two interceptions, and two PBU’s in his final ten starts.

Destin made a name for himself down the stretch of his career. In 2020, he compiled 37 tackles in 11 games played. Then, in 2021, Mack finished with 45 tackles, two TFL, one FR, a blocked kick – and five interceptions. His stellar year earned him Second-Team All-Southern Conference honors.

Since then, Mack has been looking to crack the surface of playing professional football. He was drafted by both the Philadelphia Stars in the USFL, and the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. Ultimately, he has chosen to play with Philadelphia for the 2024 season, whatever that may look like.

Final Thoughts

Right now, the Philadelphia Stars are hanging in the balance of the USFL-XFL merger. As it stands right now, the Stars are a team who could be in danger of being shelved, due to the fact that they don’t have a stadium currently secured.

Whatever the case may be, we are hoping to get more clarity from the leagues by the end of the month. Until then, it’s business as usual for GM Michael Woods and the Stars.

Philadelphia has also signed another draft pick last month, adding DT Trey Botts to the roster.
