Adam Rodriguez is already a USFL legend. He currently leads the league in sacks during the modern era, having dominated with the Philadelphia Stars for the past two seasons. Now, he’s officially re-signed with the team ahead of the 2024 USFL campaign.

The Philadelphia Stars have been quiet when it comes to re-signing athletes on expiring contracts. In fact, the only other piece they’ve brought back so far has been WR Jordan Suell. Now, Adam Rodriguez rejoins the fold.
Rodriguez absolutely lit up the USFL in 2022, posting 40 total tackles and nine sacks in what was a remarkable campaign. Adam helped lead the Philadelphia Stars to the USFL Championship game that season, making a major impact in the playoff win against New Jersey.
In fact, his clutch sack late in the fourth quarter forced a punt, one that would change the game. WR Maurice Alexander returned the punt for a touchdown, which put Philadelphia in front for good.
DE Adam Rodriguez re-signing with the @USFLStars is excellent news for their defense.

In 2023, Adam Rodriguez continued to be a pillar for the Stars defensively. He played in all ten games, starting in seven of them. Adam finished the 2023 USFL season with 27 tackles, six TFL, and six sacks.

His 15 sacks between the two seasons is a modern USFL record. Adam’s efforts in 2023 resulted in being nominated to the All-USFL Defensive team. His return to the defense is excellent news for the Stars, considering the role he’s played for the organization since they originally signed him.
Final Thoughts
In addition to re-signing Jordan Suell and Adam Rodriguez, the Stars have signed two free agents:
OL Warren Ericson
NT Auzoyah Alufohai
After a 4-6 campaign in 2023 that resulted in missing out on the postseason, Michael Woods and the Philadelphia Stars will look to build back to a Championship caliber roster. Bringing back Rodriguez is an ideal step in the right direction, and one that will hopefully start the trend of re-signing other standout players.
