The Philadelphia Stars are finally breaking their silence in the world of free agency. OL Jacob Burton officially re-signed with the team yesterday, just as the third Star on an expiring contract to do so.

• OL Jacob Burton
— Philadelphia Stars (@USFLStars) September 8, 2023
Jacob Burton primarily plays at the guard position, and has been quite consistent for Philadelphia – a team who has dealt with their fair share of line injuries through two seasons.
Burton was drafted by Philadelphia in 2022. After a Championship run in the inaugural season of the USFL, Burton was one of the few lineman who stayed relatively healthy for the Stars this year.
In 2023, Jacob started in nine games for the Stars. While Philadelphia fell short of the postseason, Burton was a key piece to their line throughout the year.
Burton has plenty of professional experience. He had a stint with the New York Giants in 2021. In addition, his collegiate career at Baylor and UCLA was quite impressive. Jacob started in 31 of his final 32 collegiate affairs.
Now, he will rejoin the Philadelphia Stars for another season in the USFL. GM Michael Woods has finally made a couple of recent moves, re-signing:
WR Jordan Suell
DE Adam Rodriguez
The team also signed free agents OL Warren Ericson and NT Auzoyah Alufohai. After a 4-6 record in 2023, Philadelphia will look to rebound in 2024.
