The Orlando Storm finally have their third quarterback. Per a league source, the Storm are signing QB Hank Bachmeier, who makes his way to Orlando to get his professional career off the ground.
Hank has had a rather unique career so far. He began his collegiate days at Boise State, playing there for four seasons. Across that span, Bachmeier racked up over 6,600 passing yards and 41 touchdowns.
In 2023, Hank made the move to Louisiana Tech. He completed 68% of his passes his lone year there, throwing for over 2,000 yards. Bachmeier battled through injuries throughout his career in college, and that was no different at Louisiana Tech.
Bachmeier wrapped up his final year of eligibility at Wake Forest, once again putting together a strong campaign with 2,593 passing yards and 16 touchdowns. One of his most impressive performances came in a win over Stanford, where he led Wake Forest on a late game winning drive.
Hank was invited to the San Francisco 49ers rookie mini-camp, but did not get offered a contract. He had a quick stint up north in the CFL with Hamilton, but he was cut in Training Camp.
Now, Bachmeier will join Orlando’s QB room, fitting in alongside Jack Plummer and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Early projections would currently place Hank as QB3 in that room, but you can’t fully count “Hank The Tank” out, given his competitive spirit and his drive to win. Anthony Becht, historically, has had a desire to put players on the field who have the mental tangibles to get the job done – something that Bachmeier certainly features.
On another note, Tanner Mordecai will not be playing for the Orlando Storm in 2026. While he was added to the team’s roster page, we are told that Tanner has opted to take a different route this spring.
