Grading UFL To NFL Probability: St. Louis Battlehawks | Jacob Saylors

New York Giants Sign All-UFL Battlehawks RB Jacob Saylors

Another St. Louis Battlehawks star is headed to the NFL. RB Jacob Saylors, who earned All-UFL honors this year, is signing with the New York Giants, following a workout a week ago.

Jacob Saylors is one of the many success stories that spring football exists for. Saylors was an UDFA, spending some time with the Bengals and Falcons last year.

As he came into the UFL, Saylors impressed in Training Camp, enough to get the active nod in week one. He struggled that game, though, and was inactive in week two. Then, he was reactivated for week three – and took the league by storm in the following games.

Saylors ended up rushing for a league-high 461 rushing yards. Only Adrian Martinez, the UFL’s MVP (and a quarterback at that), had more rushing yards. Jacob tallied five rushing touchdowns (T-2nd).

In addition to his success on the ground, Jacob was a weapon through the air. He caught 23 passes for 152 yards and three scores, proving to be a versatile playmaker – and more than just a running back.

After earning All-UFL honors and helping St. Louis achieve a postseason run, it was expected that Saylors would garner NFL interest. With the New York Giants being thin at the running back position, Jacob lands in a perfect spot for someone looking to make the 53 man roster.

Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have been possible. You can stay up to date with all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
