New Jersey Generals Re-Sign Four More Players For 2024

New Jersey Generals Re-Sign Four More Players For 2024

The New Jersey Generals continue to make moves, wasting no time in the USFL offseason. This is no surprise, as this is a habit of Mike Riley, Billy Devaney, and the entire organization.

Just a couple of days ago, New Jersey re-signed six players from 2023, including star running back Darius Victor. Now, four more re-signings have been made official.

WR Alonzo Moore

Alonzo Moore is returning to the New Jersey Generals for another season. Moore was the team’s receiving yards leader in 2023, posting 349 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 12.5YPC.

This is an excellent re-signing for New Jersey. Moore is a big-bodied receiver with a knack for making contested catches. Having him back in the lineup is great news for Mike Riley’s offense heading towards season three.

TE Braedon Bowman

Another integral piece of the offense in season two was Braedon Bowman, who is an underrated tight end in the USFL. During the 2023 season, Bowman posted 210 receiving yards and a touchdown. This will be his third year with the New Jersey Generals.

LB Chris Orr

Chris Orr is a major retention for New Jersey’s defense. He was spectacular in 2023, posting outstanding numbers despite missing multiple games due to injury:

81 tackles
7 TFL
2.5 sacks
1 FR

Orr was a leader for New Jersey’s defensive unit throughout the entire year. He’s one of the smartest linebackers in the USFL, performing at a high level through adversity time and time again.

S Paris Ford

Speaking of elite defenders, Paris Ford is another big name to retain for 2024. Ford showed a ton of growth this past season, serving as one of the top safeties in the USFL.

Without a doubt, Paris Ford is one of the hardest hitting safeties in all of professional football. He has a knack for jarring the ball loose at the perfect time, which is something we’ve seen time and time again from him. Sheldon Dawson’s secondary is going to be in good shape next season.

Final Thoughts

The New Jersey Generals have been quite aggressive in free agency, ensuring that they re-sign key players from the past two years. They have already signed 10 players, with plenty more likely on the way.

After a 9-1 record in 2022, the Generals backslid to 3-7 in 2023. Mike Riley and the team will look to get things back on track this time around.
