Minnesota Vikings Sign Arlington Renegades DT Jalen Redmond

Minnesota Vikings Sign Renegades DT Jalen Redmond

While the Arlington Renegades didn’t reach the heights they did a year ago, this team was full of quality talent. DT Jalen Redmond had an excellent season when healthy, and is now signing with the Minnesota Vikings.

Jalen Redmond was an offseason addition for Arlington, through the Rookie Draft back in June. He ended up sticking with the franchise through the USFL-XFL merger, and for good reason.

In just four games this year, Redmond posted 18 tackles, five tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks. To post these numbers, while playing less than half the season, is ridiculous. One has to wonder if he would be in UFL Defensive Player of the Year conversations, had he been available all year long.

Redmond played his college football at Oklahoma, and it made plenty of sense to see him end up on the same team as Oklahoma legend, Bob Stoops.

Jalen finished with one of the highest PFF grades of the season, at 90.3. He also tallied seven quarterback hurries.

After a successful season in the UFL, albeit an injury, Redmond is bringing depth to the Minnesota Vikings for Training Camp.

Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this opportunity would have been possible. You can stay up to date with all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
