Michigan Panthers Sign DT Damion Daniels In UFL Free Agency

The Michigan Panthers made another addition to their defense, signing DT Damion Daniels with just a few days left before major cutdowns are initiated.

Damion Daniels has been in the spring football scene for over a year. He played with the St. Louis Battlehawks in one game during the XFL season, totaling one tackle.

After he was released, Damion ended up signing with the USFL’s Houston Gamblers. Daniels saw action in three outings with Houston, racking up five total tackles on the season. Head Coach Curtis Johnson had actually taken Daniels with the team to UFL training camp, but released him at the end of last week.

Now, he’ll look to continue his career with the Michigan Panthers, who already have a stacked defensive line as is. Daniels does bring a bit of NFL experience with him, as he was with the Houston Texans for a time in 2022.

Damion Daniels played his college football at Nebraska, and earned himself a starting role down the stretch. He started in all 11 games during his senior season. Damion finished his career at Nebraska with 73 tackles.

Final Thoughts

General Manager Steve Kazor and Head Coach Mike Nolan are doing their due diligence to scour through as much talent as possible during this hectic portion of UFL training camp.

Earlier today on a media presser, Nolan mentioned how impressed he was with their defensive unit. He said the team had tremendous depth at each position, and there are ultimately players who will be released that deserve a roster spot.
