An underrated playmaker for this Michigan Panthers defense in 2024 was Ron’Dell Carter, who has now officially re-signed with the team.

Carter joined the Panthers in 2023, for the USFL’s second season. He started in the first four games of the year – but got injured, and eventually missed the year because of that injury.
In 2024, Carter was a part of a defense that, under Collin Bauer, saw quite a bit of success. Carter once again started in every single game, this time remaining healthy throughout the entire year.

Ron’Dell Carter totaled 20 tackles, four TFL’s, and 4.5 sacks in 2024. He didn’t get too much attention from the media because of all the talent this team featured defensively, but Ron’Dell was a guy that Michigan’s personnel spoke highly about throughout the season. He does a lot of the little things well, and is an important piece to a defense that made some legitimate noise in 2024.
Carter has had some NFL experience, having stints with the Texans, Steelers, and Cowboys. Now, he’ll look to enter his third season in spring football, with the Michigan Panthers.

General Manager Steve Kazor has brought back quite a few players from the 2024 roster, locking them down for the 2025 season. It’s a smart strategy, as the Panthers’ 7-3 record reflects how deep this team was this past year.
