BREAKING: The Memphis Showboats have signed S Antonio Reed, per source.
Reed was a starter for Memphis when healthy in 2023, totaling 30 tackles & 1 INT. After originally signing to NJ in free agency, Reed now returns to the @USFLShowboats for the 2024 #UFL season. pic.twitter.com/u931S8JOQK
Antonio Reed has been in the USFL for the past two seasons. He was with the Tampa Bay Bandits during their 4-6 campaign in 2022, totaling 29 tackles.
Reed was a starter for the Memphis Showboats when healthy, notching 30 tackles and an interception on the season. One of Antonio’s highlights came in week eight against New Jersey, coming up with an important pick to slow down the Generals’ momentum.

With Antonio Reed returning to Memphis, the Showboats continue their pursuit of former spring football athletes this offseason. GM Dennis Polian and HC John DeFilippo have been quite aggressive in the past two drafts, maxing out their roster throughout both events.
Antonio is joining a packed secondary in Memphis. As of right now, the team also rosters D.J. Daniel, Kyree Woods, Jarey Elder, Nehemiah Shelton, and Christian McFarland – just to name a few.
The Showboats organization currently holds 77 players, which means that at least two cuts have to be made before rosters are finalized on February 14th.
