The Memphis Showboats are finalizing their UFL roster for this upcoming season. Most recently, they re-signed OL Alec Lindstrom, and added LB Steele Chambers to Jarren Horton’s defense.

OL Alec Lindstrom
As Memphis reshapes their offensive line for 2025, getting Lindstrom back is excellent news. He was an offseason addition for the Showboats prior to the inaugural UFL campaign, and saw action in eight games this year.
Interestingly enough, Alec started out as a guard in John DeFilippo’s offense. However, he was moved to the starting center during the final two weeks – which proved to be a fantastic move. The run game improved drastically, and the protection was much better compared to the previous eight weeks.

Following the UFL season, Alec signed with the Los Angeles Rams. He was cut in August, but landed in New York with the Jets – and remained on their practice squad through November.
With Jim Turner returning to Memphis to coach the offensive line, it’s no surprise to see Alec Lindstrom back in a Showboats uniform. He showed plenty of growth last season, and will look to build upon that this upcoming year.
LB Steele Chambers
Chambers is a fascinating signing for Memphis, having one of the most unique stories of anyone in the league. Steele played his college football at Ohio State, and began his career as a running back. He had 28 carries for 221 yards and a score across his first two seasons.
Chambers then made he switch to linebacker, and had 47 tackles, a sack, and an interception during his first season on defense. The success continued into the following years, as Steele finished his college career wth 208 tackles, three sacks, and four interceptions.

This led to some NFL interest for Chambers. He was signed by the Detroit Lions as an UDFA in 2024, but was let go in June, prior to camp. Steele was then picked up by the New England Patriots, but got let go at the end of August. He had nine tackles this preseason in New England.
Now, Chambers joins a reloaded Memphis Showboats defense, led by DC Jarren Horton. Horton loves aggressive, hard hitting linebackers – and Steele fits that mold. He’s someone who should have a legitimate opportunity to make the roster in camp, as long as he meets expectations.
With one open spot remaining, GM Jim Monos needs to make only one more move prior to UFL Training Camp, which begins on the 27th.
