Memphis Showboats Re-Sign CB Delrick Abrams Jr. For 2024

The Memphis Showboats made their seemingly last re-signing yesterday ahead of the USFL free agency opener today, as they announced they re-signed CB Delrick Abrams Jr, the team announced on X.

Delrick has been on the Tampa Bay Bandits / Memphis Showboats since the 2022 inaugural USFL draft, where he was the first pick in the 8th round.

Delrick has picked up 73 total tackles over his USFL career so far, being a mainstay in that Showboats secondary. He also made an impact on special teams, most notably when he made a crucial block on Maulers punter Matt Mengel to spring WR Derrick Dillon loose for a 109 yard TD.

During the 2023 USFL season, Delrick Abrams Jr. started in all ten games for the Memphis Showboats. He posted 34 tackles during the year, serving as a staple defensive playmaker for the Carnell Lake’s unit.

With free agency now open, the Memphis Showboats are letting the following players walk.

QB Brady White
WR Vinny Papale
WR John Franklin IlI
T Corbin Kaufusi
DL John Atkins
EDGE Jeff McCulloch
CB Jermaine Kelly Jr.
S Antonio Reed
S Stephen Griffin

Even though the Memphis Showboats missed out on the playoffs last year after going 5-5, many people thought they were just a quarterback away.
