Earlier this week the new XFL ownership group did away with the old branding and revealed a new logo to go with the leagues new direction.
There’s been mixed reactions online to the new branding, many wondering why change the existing logo that seemed to be a fan favorite. Others have started to make comparisons to the new logo, specifically Axe Body Spray and XRP. The Axe social media team has even gotten in on the fun responding to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson pointing out the familiarity.
logo looks familiar 👀

It wasn’t all fun and games though. American soccer player Megan Rapoine responded to the XFL not with jokes, rather litigation.
Welp. This is awkward. Only thing  The Rock and @XFL2023 are gonna be cookin up is a response to the Cease and Desist and an ENTIRE new brand ID.

Rapinoe doesn’t like that the ‘X’ logos are as similar as they are, and seems to want to take action to secure her IP.
In our opinion, the new XFL logo resembles other similar styled logos much more than that of Togethxr. It could create an interesting situation for the new ownership group right after the rebranding, but I don’t expect them to back down.
Although she states that a Cease & Desist is coming, she doesn’t say if it’s already been filed.
We’ll definitely be following this story closely, and will bring you the latest updates as they come in.
