Chris Redman and the Louisville Kings continue to make moves. They’ve signed LB Nick Kubitz in their latest wave of transactions, while also seeing several players removed from the roster.
With Monty Rice and Shayne Simon departing Louisville, Nick Kubitz joins the roster as an exciting young prospect out of North Dakota State University. Kubitz had a long career there, playing for six seasons.
Across that span, Nick racked up 210 tackles, 14 TFL’s, two interceptions, and 13 pass breakups. He appeared in an impressive 67 games for the Bison, also blocking a punt in his senior campaign.

Nick Kubitz had a strong preseason with the Atlanta Falcons this past summer, posting 12 tackles and a sack in three games – but he was let go during roster cuts. Now, he’ll look to make an impact for the Kings in the UFL, to get his pro career off the ground.

The Kings suffered a plethora of losses defensively. Benning Potoa’e was a strong addition up front in the draft, formerly with the Michigan Panthers in 2025. DE Myjai Sanders has one of the strongest resumes of anyone in the UFL, so it’s odd that he won’t be playing with Louisville this year. One has to wonder what may have happened on his end to depart from the Kings.
In the secondary, Isaiah Bolden and Quindell Johnson are both considerable dropoffs. Quindell was in the NFL for a couple of years with the Bears. He posted 320 tackles collegiately with Memphis. Bolden, on the other hand, features 4.35 speed.
