At long last, a Birmingham Stallion has signed to the NFL. Safety Alex Cook has been acquired by the Los Angeles Rams, inking his contract with the team yesterday afternoon.
Alex Cook was a first-timer in the United Football League this year. He was selected by A.J. McCarron & this team during the draft process, and despite tough competition in camp, ended up earning a starting role in Kevin Sherrer’s defense.
Alex started in all 10 games for Birmingham this year. He racked up 45 tackles, an interception, and three pass breakups on the year. Cook closed out the season with an incredibly impressive performance, with two PBU’s and an interception against the Gamblers – all while wearing a club on his left hand.
Alex scored a touchdown in week nine, as well, taking back a ridiculous fumble on a pass breakup he caused against the Aviators.
Cook has some NFL experience already. He was signed by the New York Giants as an UDFA in 2023, and later was picked up by the Carolina Panthers. Cook started in two games with Carolina during the 2023 season, racking up 11 tackles. Now, the former Washington product will have another shot in the NFL – this time with the Rams.
